This is the first complete bird we have made. It's a little smaller than the others but is the most realistic. The body is made from a reclaimed headboard.
The wings were actually made well before we started the business and had any special tools or refined techniques. It took six months of on and off work to complete the set. We recently modified the wings and added a head, body, and tail feathers to complete the parrot.
There are roughly 320 in each of these. The feathers are attached to hardware cloth. There’s an aluminum bar (hidden by the feathers) woven into the cloth. It extends beyond the wing and into the steel plumbing fittings.
