This caribou was made for Väsen Brewing Company, a local brewery in my hometown, Richmond, VA. The artistic medium completely consists of labels from their cans. They have very unique graphic design work, which made for an extremely interesting piece. The base is 3/4” MDF and the top/detailed layer is laser cut 1/8” plywood. Both of these layers have been painted black. The labels have been laser cut to the precise shape of each of the sections in the top layer. There’s over 700 of them! Finally, the entire piece was covered in a two part epoxy resin.
