Birdhouses

The first step was to make a base out of plywood and 2x4 scraps.   Then we flattened several hundred Hardywood, Coke, Alexander Keith’s and Coors caps for the bricks, siding, and porch floor.  We built the windows and doors separately and glued them them on.  Next came the roof, which consisted of MGD and Legend with part of the crown cut off to mimic shingles.  The last step was the vertical corner siding, the porch fence, and front steps.  There are over 700 caps in all.  The house is about one foot tall and the base is 10”x8”.

The second house is a scaled down version of the first one.  All of the same techniques were used.
